Producer and Artistic Director

David Cheoros is an independent producer and director working in the literary arts, theatre, film and video.  In addition to his work with LitFest, he teaches a course in applied marketing at Macewan College, and pursues independent performance projects.  His research has ranged from audience development and staff-board relations to public arts policy and work that intersects art and science.

In Edmonton, David has been General Manager of Theatre Network, executive director of the Film and Video Arts Society, and director of the Edmonton Fringe Theatre Festival.  With Pamela Anthony, David co-founded and was for two years co-producer of the Comedy Arts Festival in Edmonton.

David has a BA in Cultural Management from Waterloo and an MFA in directing from Victoria.  David has worked with companies as diverse as the Stratford Festival, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Esprit Orchestra and the Writers’ Development Trust.  He has directed, assistant directed or dramaturged more than 50 films and plays.  His work has been seen across North America and in Australia.
